Tax Department
Staff Tax Accountant
Duties and Responsibilities: Our Staff I position is responsible for securing and analyzing client tax data used in the preparation of partnerships, corporate, individual and trust income tax returns, tax projections, and tax consulting engagements. The essential duties are as follows:
To analyze tax data and prepare workpapers
To apply critical thinking and analytical skills to evaluate client provided tax data to determine proper reporting of activities
To prepare book and tax adjustments for clients
To determine the accuracy and completeness of the tax product and perform self review for quality assurance procedures before final review
To perform research and analysis for tax consulting engagements
To perform other tax related duties and projects as required
To facilitate communication and provide ample assistance to staff, seniors, managers, and director(s)
The ideal candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills. Computer skills required with working knowledge of Excel. Excellent team player with a customer service focus.
Senior Tax Accountant
Duties and Responsibilities: Our Tax Senior position is responsible for securing and analyzing client tax data used in the preparation and or review of tax compliance products for individual, corporation, trust, and partnership tax returns. The essential duties are as follows:
To analyze, on an advanced level, tax data and prepare workpapers based on professional standards.
To apply critical thinking and analytical skills to evaluate client provided tax data to determine proper reporting of activities.
To prepare book and tax adjustments for clients as needed.
To review tax compliance products for quality assurance procedures for final delivery.
To perform tax research in order to assist managers and directors in tax consulting projects.
To maintain direct working relationships with clients.
To provide supervision to staff and peers.
The ideal will have a BA/BS Degree in related field and 2 years of tax-related experience preferably working with partnerships, S corporations, and high net worth individuals. CPA preferred. Computer skills required with working knowledge of Excel and other tax related software. Excellent team player with a customer service focus.
Manager Tax Accountant
Duties and Responsibilities: Our Tax Manager position is responsible for full management of client engagements, tax return review, tax planning, and tax consulting. The essential duties are as follows:
To demonstrate an understanding of complex tax concepts and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations.
To develop and deliver tax planning ideas with timely and responsive services and work products that meets and or exceeds client expectations.
To search for and recognize opportunities to improve our clients’ operations and to recommend tax or other savings strategies; develop solutions.
To supervise the progress of work on client engagements.
To organize own work and delegate and control work assignments so engagements are completed in accordance with the firm performance standards, budgets and firm deadlines.
To monitor client issues related to compliance services and maintain consistently high quality tax solutions.
To prepare book and tax adjustments for clients as needed.
To inform directors of progress on engagements, take timely action on scheduling and other issues.
To provide leadership, training, and administrative direction to motivate and develop the capabilities of staff members.
To participate in the firm’s recruiting efforts.
To be actively involved in the firm’s Practice Development Program.
To facilitate communication and provide ample assistance to all professional staff members and directors.
To develop and share professional knowledge with all members of the firm.
The ideal candidate will have BA/BS Degree with an emphasis in Accounting and 5 years of tax-related experience preferably working with partnerships, S corporations, and high net worth individuals. An advanced degree in tax highly desirable. Current CPA preferred. Must possess strong written and oral communication skills. Must possess strong leadership skills. Computer skills required with working knowledge of Excel and other tax related software. Excellent team player with a customer service focus.
